Our wedding licence allows you to get married in a non-religious ceremony in our beautiful Marquee with 120+ of your close friends and family. Alternatively you may choose to have your wedding at a church in the area, and then come back to the property for the rest of your celebrations.

We know that your wedding day is one of the most special moments in your life and by celebrating at George & Dragon Hotel in Long Melford Suffolk, you’ll create fantastic memories that last a lifetime.

The Marquee has a great formal courtyard and gardens perfect for photographs and a drink after the wedding ceremony allowing you to enjoy the private gardens and setting after the wedding breakfast.

From the moment you arrive along the private driveway exclusive to the Bride & Groom you’ll know it’s going to be a day to remember once you see the set up of the Marquee.

Your guests can enjoy welcome drinks as they mingle in the exclusive bar and reception area, before seating to a delicious meal in our purpose-built Marquee venue which can accommodate 120+ guests.

We have a fabulous catering team who can call on over 60 years combine experience to help you select the perfect meal and wine list for your big day. After meal, switch your attention to the bar area/dance floor for the time honoured tradition of the first dance, before the party really gets underway. We have 14 bedrooms at hotel available for exclusive hire to ensure your guests and have no need to leave early, allowing them to dance the night away until the music finally stops and the lights come back up at midnight.

09:00 The bride and bridesmaids begin their preparations in the Special Georgian Suite
13:00 The wedding ceremony in the beautiful courtyard or in the Marquee
14:00 Photos in the gardens
15:00 You will be called into the marquee for the wedding breakfast once ready
19:00 Through to the bar for more refreshments and to greet the evening guests
20:00 The band or DJ play
21:00 Hog roast or evening buffet
23:30 Last Dance
00:00 Evening guests leave
01:00 Retire to bed!
